Thoughtful Eating: Hailey Meng Jung Lin
Rethinking Design and Eating Experience
Eating is more than nutrition and it relates to our emotions, culture, and social activities. However, our eating experiences tie to tablewares way more than we thought. Tableware affects what we eat and how we eat subconsciously. That is to say, our eating experiences are more or less limited by the unchanged tablewares. Lin started the project by observing eating behavior and rethinking the relationship between food, human, and tableware. This project aims to create a new pattern and enhance the eating experience by brings new elements like movement and illusion to the tabletop.
